To educate responders to the various features and classifications of tank cars. How to safely work around tank cars and understand their construction, gauging devices, accessories and cargo handling equipment. Basic tank car design, DOT and American Association of Railroad information regarding the classifications and construction of tank cars and their equipment.

*100 percent attendance of all the classes is required to receive a certificate of completion
**Note: The effective date for NJAC 5:18C-6.1 and 5:18E was February 17th 2000. All personnel assuming a supervisory role at an emergency incident must be certified Incident Management Level 1.

*A Continuing Education form must be provided by the student prior to or on the start date of the class
**A schedule of lessons, noting equipment needed, will be handed out on the first session
