Teaching Fire Company's that there are actions they can take while awaiting the Haz-Mat team that will have a positive effect on the call. Usually the first arriving units on the scene of a Hazardous Materials incident are not the Haz-Mat team. Many times a "routine" call turns out to be a Haz-Mat event. This class will give you the tips and tricks you need to effectively, efficiently and safely handle the initial stages of a Hazardous Material incident. Using the "Safe-Unsafe-Dangerous" methodology, you will learn how to make a positive impact so that Hazardous Materials calls don't turn into the "scary" calls that no one wants to go on.
